Guest guest
SPACE - Society for People's Awareness, Care & Empowerment, a Delhi based organisation working on the issues of Gender and Sexual Health for a decade takes pride in announcing that on the occassion of World AIDS Day, 2008 a series of posters on sexual minorities was released in collaboration with Delhi State AIDS Control Society, Govt. of Delhi in Delhi University. The posters were released by the Project Director- DSACS and the officials from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. We are grateful to UNAIDS, country office for their technical support. A set of three posters in Hindi and translated in English as well are by the community members who work as Peer Leaders with the organisation. It is for the first time that the 'Kothi'community have taken the lead and come forward to communicate about issues that concern them. It is a bold step indeed as the posters have their own pictures with strong and clear messages by and for the community.. It is truly believed that it is a positive step towards empowerment and recognition of a community long ignored and abused. The posters can be used as advocacy tools, information materials and effectively be used for Behaviour Change communication.
