Dear Forum,

On behalf of Tamilnadu Positive Women Network we would like to recieve the

attention of all state SACS and all of you on the " Health care " of the ICTC and

PPTCT and TBHIV Women couselors and Out Reach workers.

Ms. Malar(Name Changed)is livng with HIV for more than 10 years now

admitted in the Tambaram Hospital for MTR TB-in very serious condition but her

CD4 is more than 500 and the HB level is also quiet good. She Worked as a

counsellor in Thiruchengodu taluk-Tamilnadu and have done lot of services to

WLHA society. she is highly knowledged about HIV and TB.

Ms.Sudha-Counsellor and well knowledged Woman Living with HIV/AIDS had

passed away due to Kidney failure in Perambalur District.we have many more

examples like the above and currently doing our best to help them through PWN+.

Now We would like to Know from all State SACS and other resposibilities that,

NO: 1- Is there any training or information or opportunities provided to the

WLWHA in Cousellors level by SACS to take care of their own health.

No: 2 - regarding to the treatment facilities, the Tambaram Hospital itself

there is no facilities for Physiotherapy, ortho, heart problems, and other

chronic diseases.

No: 3- The medical professionalists also responding to us that these are the

side effects of ART and there is no treatment for that.is that the right

information?

We would like to request the forum to have a deep discussion on the above issue

towards the health care of COunsellors and the available facilities in the

Hospitals, which will contribute to save the life of

Cousellors, outreach workers and other Women living with HIV in Future.

Thanks.

In Solidarity,

D.Padmavathy,

President,

Tamilnadu Positive Women Network(TPWN+)
