Penny--

I live in Durham and would love to come see you while you're in the hospital,

if that's okay. It just hit me that April 12 is MONDAY! You must be getting

really excited.

My husband and I used to live in College Park about 10 years ago. He grew up

there. What part of MD are you from?

Hello!

Hi there, I just wanted to send an intro really quick as I am on the way

out the door.

My name is Dacia (pronounced Day-sha, rhymes with 'deja') I'm 24, and bf

mom to Konnor ph, born 9/30/98. Married to Dave (32). We live in

Southern California. I am a sahm, currently trying to start my own Word

Processing business so that I can put a few buck in my pocket and still

be home with my little one!! If I knew how much there was to know about

breastfeeding before I had my son, I would have started reading up a

long time ago!!! lol! Anyway, I hope to meet you all very soon.

Oh, for now I am on digest mode. I am co-moderator of a list for

stay-at-home moms, and I also subscribe to an AP list, so I'm really

busy at the moment, but they tend to slow down quite a bit and maybe I

will go back to regualr mode then. In the meantime, I will probably

send multiple subject email responding to the day's digest if that's

ok. I hope you all don't mind medium to long email, as I tend to run at

the mouth sometimes!! lol!

Talk to you soon!!

I have to say- for all my research- the one thing I wasn't prepared for

(I know it is not the norm) is the horrible burps I had for the first

3-4 days post op. They were voilent and painful. When the zantac

kicked in it was fine- and they cleared up on their own- I don't have

them anymore....... that is my worst " bad stuff " story:-)

Hi everyone! I've been reading the posts for a little while and thought

I'd introduce myself. I'm an almost 30 (as in next week) year-old grad

student who has done some work with IE and nondieting over the years,

but never REALLY worked on the deeper eating patterns and issues. I

think I treated the principles of IE like a diet and created rules that

I could unconciously follow. Recently, my mother and brother were

diagnosed with two different kinds of terminal cancer. I do not want to

eat my way through this process, which brought me back to this work.

Anyway, here I am and I look forward to learning more about this

process and getting/giving support!

Hi Diane,

Welcome and thanks for introducing

yourself. And happy birthday next week! J It’s so common to treat IE like a diet and create rules, it’s

good you recognize that and now you can approach it differently.

I’m so sorry to hear about your mom

and your brother, that has got to be really difficult. We are here to support

you, so please reach out and let us know what we can do. It’s important

you take care of yourself in really tough times, and this is a good place to do

it. I applaud you for wanting to work on IE and not deal with this by eating, I

think you will be much better served by feeling all the emotions even though

they don’t feel good. And you’ll be able to be there for your

family in a much more present way.

Like I said, let us know what we can do to

support you.

Thanks!

Gillian
