Guest guest
Sounds like you live in a great “neighborhood”, n! The winter festivities should be wonderful for you! (Just maybe never say “Catholics including Orthodox” to an Orthodox priest – the poor man would have a stroke… hee hee hee) That’s one bad thing about small towns in Wyoming, etc – not a lot of different “ways”. I think it’s fabulous when everyone’s traditions are included – you learn so much and share so much more than when we all keep to our own narrow paths. Good health to you and to Edna! in WY " You get a wonderful view from the point of no return... " http://practical-blackwork.blogspot.com http://www.flickr.com/photos/liadains_fancies the winter So, here we are in the depth of winter, at least in the northern hemisphere, and the heights of summer in the southern hemisphere. I live in public housing, HUD. When I first came here, I was the first jewish person who had ever lived here. Now we have: Christians, both protestant and Catholic (Orthodox included), Muslims, people of varying religions from India; Buddhists from many Asian countries. It has been hard for the administration, trying to figure out what cards, parties, dinners, etc. to have. So, we have these big events, in each of the three buildings and the public meals at these events are free of pork and also vegetarian. Everyone experiences something new about another culture, not just the religion or spiritual practice. And, as you know, my family cooks up a storm, and we are already preparing for Hanukah this year; I am baking pies like a mad fiend, and even bread, and cookies. There is hardly time to shop, prepare food, give gifts to one's beloved children and grandchildren, and all that goes with that, and take good care of one's self. Last year I actually lost weight. Not this year. I am now a chub, though Oprah now outweighs me! Stay safe on those highways and in those malls, everyone. I am preparing an update on my friend, Edna, who has MS, and will have her next appointment with her doctor tomorrow. Bulletins will be issued. Love to everyone, and now back to the kitchen, n
