Kate sorry to hear you are having problems. You are in my prayers.

Hi, This past 13 days has brought me much stomach and digestive problems. I am fairly certain, now that I've doneextensive research, that I have IBS-irritable bowel syndrome.

It is painful ,uncomfortable, and I can't go anywhere! I amsupposed to travel 45 min. to CT. and I just don't think Ican do it. It is supposed to be a holiday party with mostof my family there...but between the pain and cramping,

plus needing to be near a bathroom constantly...I mightjust have to ask my daughter and sister to take the kidsup there...Does anyone else have IBS/ Know about it? or knowsomeone with it? This is day #13 of going 12 to 15x a

day.Sorry for the topic, just something else I'm dealingwith at this 'fun' time! love to all in our wonderful group, always, Kate in NYPlease visit: http://www.bicycleman.com

Kate, maybe you should see your doctor on this one. With this much

going you are probably running pretty low on the electrolites

Potassium and Magnesium right now. And that can get you into trouble .

I would say any dizziness, muscle cramps, tingling or feelings of

your heart racing or skipping beats can all be the result of low mag

and pot levels. You are probably getting dehydrated as well. And

dehydration leads to futher wasting of electrolites.

Have you taken any rounds of antibiotics in the last month?

Sometimes you can get certain bacteria overgrowth while you are on

antibiotics and that will cause diahrea. And you need another

medication to fix the problem the antibiotics fixed. I think most of

the antibiotics that are most likely to cause this have warnings

labels or the print out you get with it states to let your doctor

know if you start having those problems.

Another thing you might think about, are you becoming lactose

intolerant? My ex now has to take lactose pills when he eats dairy or

he gets that problem.

Well it seems you needed more poop to deal with....How about Activia? I have some every day...or there are acidophilus pill/tabs...or just plain ol' yogurt.....??? I don't know about IBS, been blessed with a perfect a-hole (of course, I'm divorcing his a-holier-then-thou-ness so who knows what the future may bring?? Sorry, don't mean to make light of the situation, I guess I'm covering my nerves with levity...24 H 45 min to go (but who's counting?) Thanks, Debbie. I appreciate your response. No drs. are in today, so I contacted agastroenterologist I had seen some time agoand him paged. He called me back, and whenI described what was going on, he called in2 scripts--one for lomitil and one for anantibiotic. I was happy and surprised he didthis for me, sight unseen. To answer your questions--I have not recently been on antibiotics, and when I have, I do makeit a point of replenishing my supplies of goodbacteria. I am lactose intolerant, so I stay clearof that for sure, and have for some time.Myacupuncturist recommended I take white riceand it helped for about 1 hr. the other day.Other than that, I get a reprieve every 20 to 30minutes, than I am back in the bathroom. We are supposed to visit CT., but I might justsend my kids on along without me if the lomitil doesn't work right away. Thanks again for your post, Debbie.blessings to you and yours, Kate Re: icky topic...sorryTo: MSersLife > Kate, maybe you should see your doctor on this one.
