Guest guest
My parents came out to visit me and my sister yesterday and we went out to lunch. My parents are very much "clean plate" people. My mom gets annoyed if you leave a little ketchup on your plate! Anyway, I have been suffering from bad indigestion and gas for almost a week now and haven't really been eating much (I'm feeling better today and I've got a doctor's appointment for next Monday to get checked out). I was worried about what I could order but when we got there they had a brunch menu. My family is very much a fried fatty food loving family and when we eat out that's what we all get. I decided to get the breakfast meal because I didn't want to make myself any sicker! I figured they'd make fun of me but when mine came they were all eyeing it! I had 2 scrambled eggs, 2 pieces of toast, 6 slices of bacon and little hashbrown like potato thingies. I just ate the eggs and toast and a few of the potato things....I had no trouble giving the bacon away (I don't really like it anyway and they were all eager to eat it!). My dad ended up getting this platter with wings, a piece of deep fried battered fish, onion rings and fries. Plus I gave him 4 pieces of bacon, my Mom gave him some of her fries and I gave him some of my potato thingies!! He was struggling to eat it all and I said at one point..."you know you don't have to eat it all!" His response was "yes I do" and acted like I was crazy for suggesting it. And he did eat it all but started complaining about his stomach almost immediately! It was just a good demonstration to me of non IE eating! Now that I've been listening to my body I just don't get stuffing it with food and then feeling miserable! Oh I still do it sometimes but it was interesting to see someone else do it and realize how ridiculous it is to do that! Looking for the perfect gift? Give the gift of Flickr!
