I LOVE those kitties! I have a big fat gray one - who

has the personality of a lazy dog! His name is ,

when we got him he had a brother named Rhett (Gone with

the wind) but my roommate took rhett - so now I just

have aboy cat named - kinda silly. I consider

him my " 1st " child! Have a good trip!

Lynda,

There are several hotels within 5 miles of the hospital. My husband and I

stayed at the Hampton Inn the Sunday night before my surgery on Monday. I told

them I was in town for medical treatment and got a discounted rate (around

$48.00 as oppposed to high $50's or $60's).

Durham Regional Hospital has a web site with maps and hotels close by. It's

also available at www.clos.net

If you have internet access. (I can't believe I just said that....DUH!...don't

guess I'd be typing this if you didn't) use Mapquest and it'll make a travel

itinerary and door-to-door route map for you.

As far as stuff to do in NC there's all kinds of possibilities. Do a web search

at NC Tourism and you'll find several links with info about where to go and what

to do in NC.

Hi!

Just an update....thank you all for responding to my question concerning

Dr. R letters.

I made the appt. with my PCP, next Friday, to get the physical and blood

work. Started the letters last night, and worked into the wee hours. I am going

to a cat show in land this weekend(showing my Maine Coon kitties), my family

of choice will be a captive audience so will talk and get a letter written up.

Also contacted a business school, they have a 6 month brush up course that I can

start before the operation...since I'm a self pay, was told that there wasn't a

waiting list....maybe I can get it done in April....hmmm Any suggestions on

hotels, things to do in NC? (besides studying?)

Thanks!!!!

Lynda--

I live in Durham. Give me some Idea of price range for hotels, and I'll see

what I can dig up. It's sometimes cheaper if you're staying by the week.

Zephyr -

I am so happy to hear that things are starting to look up for you concerning your birth mom. It won't be long before little Skyler is with you and then the sleepless nights can really begin. Keep the positive attitude - I am so excited for you!

a note to update those interested, took birth mom to the dr today

Little Skyler is now 4.5 pounds and the as best the doctors can tell

his health is looking good. Thanks for listening to me on this. I had

the tuna recipe I posted yesterday for dinner tonight and it was

fantastic and easy to make. I hope everyone is doing well and peace

,

I will be praying for you and your sweet girls. Please get some rest if you can.

Danna

My girls are still in the hospital... I'm home for the next 4 hours to sleep. They have fevers that run from 102-106 and the doctors can't get it down for more than a couple hours. They still can't eat or drink anything. I just can't even think straight to say anything more right now. Thanks everyone for being out there...

Hi everyone! A week or so ago I posted about my stomach problems. I've really been listening to what my body has been telling me and my stomach has been feeling really good!! I cut my dairy consumption and haven't had tomato sauce. I also stopped drinking tea and coffee (I was drinking 2 cups a day) and I haven't had bad heartburn or indigestion since! Once I got past the caffeine headaches I don't even miss it. It's worth it to have my stomach feel good! I've started drinking hot water which gives me everything the tea was except for caffeine. I like the warmth on my throat and the soothing feeling it gives me. Just an example of doing what feels good for your body! I've also been paying a lot more attention to my hunger. This morning I wasn't really hungry so I didn't really want breakfast. But I have a meeting pretty much first thing

at work which is when I know I'll be hungry if I hadn't eaten anything. I made some frozen pancakes with syrup first but they were just too sweet and were grossing me out. So I made some toast with margarine and didn't eat the crust. Before IE I would have eaten the pancakes because I had already made them and then felt sick all morning wishing I had eaten something else. It feels good to listen to your body!
