Guest guest
First of all thanks to all of you who posted regarding the hot dogs and nitrates. Makes total sense and you put my mind at ease. You people are sooo cool. Now for the recent problem. Yesterday I gave my son for the first time a mixture of rice dream ice cream, l/2 bananna, rice milk, orange juice and 1/4 tsp. of folic acid. The ice cream, banana and folic acid were all new to him. I mixed it as a smoothie and he liked it. I'm working on trying to get a rice protein powder and make a smoothie so I thought I'd introduce it slowly. Anyhow, last night he was fine as well as this morning until I started doing therapy with him. For over a half hour he tantrumed and was somewhat violent. It was very disturbing to witness. Is it the ice cream, banana or just a kid who didn't want to do therapy? Probably the latter. He hasn't acted with me like this in a long time. I'm also wondering about how long nitrates stay in your system because my tutor last night had a problem with him and he hadn't had the smoothie yet. Thanks for your input. This list is truly my saving grace. Penny
