Guest guest
Well, I found a place near me that sells these quadline skates. Actually it ended up being the inventor of these skates, which I thought was pretty cool. So I went all the way to Haight Ashbury in San Francisco to meet this lady that said she would help me find a pair of quadline skates. When I got there she had gotten me mixed up with someone else that she had spoken to that was looking for skates, and ended up not bringing in a pair of boots for me to try on. The funny thing was is that she had my e-mail and telephone number. Anyway. So I got there and I ended on trying a different kind of skate that they had that went over your shoe like the kind we wore when we were kids. Only these had the inline skate wheels and stuck out like 2-3 inches past my shoe. I tried them on because I just wanted to get a feel for the inline wheels and then I would be able to make a decision for or against quadline skates. Well, let me tell you, it has been a while since I have been on skates, so I think that had to do with something to do with my wobbliness. I got on them and fell so unsteady, more undsteady than I remember. So in the end I chose to go with some regular outdoor skates. I am really excited. They are black with red wheels, and they are being custom made just for ME! Anyway, I figure I get back on the horse so to speak with skating on regular skates and then see if I can handle the quadlines and if so, I can just have my wheels switched out. They should be ready tomorrow and I hope pick them up then but if not definately monday after my class. Well, that is what is going on with me! Guest guest
Well, Haight Ashbury is a heckuva long way from Indy, so I don't think I'll be going there anytime soon to find skates. But spring's not sprung, yet, anyway, and (with 40-mph wind gusts and 17 degrees outside) I don't think I'd be doing any skating for awhile. So I guess I'll have plenty of time to Google local suppliers! I can hardly wait, though. M'gosh, it's been since my daughter was about 8 since I skated, and she graduates college in 4 months! But no wonder I was in better shape as a teenager--I used to go to the rink on Saturdays with my girlfriends and thought nothing of skating for four hours at a time.
