It is known for innovative and multi-sectoral initiatives in the HIV/AIDS field. SAATHII is registered as a tax-exempt charitable trust with offices in Chennai (Head Office), Kolkata, Hyderabad, Karur, Bhubaneswar and Jaipur. About Interact Worldwide (IWW): Interact Worldwide has 30 years of experience in supporting sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and rights programmes in Asia and Africa, and over 15 years experience working in the target states in India. IWW has core skills and experience in providing technical assistance in integration and linkage of SRH and HIV/AIDS, developing rights based approaches and supporting the development of a more transparent and effective civil society with a systemic role in health sector strengthening, scrutiny and governance. Job description: SAATHII and IWW would like to appoint an experienced social research agency with a strong presence in West Bengal and Orissa to conduct a baseline study for their collaborative project titled “Building the Capacity of People Living with HIV and Sexual Minorities in Orissa and West Bengal to Advance their Health and Rights”. The project seeks to build and facilitate coalitions of sexual minorities and PLHIV to conduct joint advocacy, play a watchdog role and engage with government agencies in effective implementation of crucial health programmes. This project is supported by the British government’s Department for International Development – Civil Society Challenge Fund. The social research agency appointed will be expected to provide technical assistance to SAATHII and IWW in order to: i) Design a research plan for baseline, mid term and end line assessments that incorporate peer research methodologies (among others); ii) Coordinate the baseline assessment and write its report and summary document; iii) Develop a detailed monitoring and evaluation (M & E) framework for the project in keeping with the project goal, purpose, outputs and activities, and learning from the baseline study; iv) Take an active role in writing scientific papers resulting from the baseline study.
