Guest guest
One of the topics explored some time back here was foods that one had lost interest in due to eating for 'diet' reasons. Apples, and certainly celery sticks topped that list, but one thing that I used to 'love' and found I didn't have any more interest in was fruit salad. I used to adore eating this every Thanksgiving which was about the only time I used to eat it. Then I decided that if I made it without the whipping cream it could be quite 'healthy' and maybe even a good 'alternative' dessert. I really liked the taste, but never felt satisfied by it even though it sure did 'fill' me up! Since IE I had only made it 'a la natural' a couple of times and it just didn't appeal to me AT ALL. But tonight I found myself looking at the bananas in the kitchen and thinking - hmmm, I do have whipping cream and oranges and apples too. So I made it with whipped cream just like I used to do at Thanksgiving time. I throughly enjoyed it! It did satisfy as well as fill me for my evening 'snack'. I didn't even want to 'finish' off with a mini-chocolate either - AMAZING!! I'm actually a bit shocked that I'm surprised by this, but happy too. Its wonderful to re-discover a 'favorite' once again.
