Guest guest
Happy Friday List, I agree with 's choice of Covey's " 7 Habits " , and a book with similar ideas is Carnegie's " How to Win Friends and Influence People " . Another favorite is " Crucial Conversations " by /Grenny/McMillan/Switzler, which gives terrific clues as to why we respond to tough conversations badly (surprise! - it's a chemical reaction), why discussions disintegrate and how to avoid those pitfalls. Lastly, " The Servant " by Hunter is an easy read with a great message - an introduction to Servant Leadership. Guest guest
, In addition to Covey's books my favorites include " Good to Great " by Jim and the Gitomer books, my first experience being the " Little Red Book of Selling " . I've reviewed both for Impact Magazine and felt that they offered a valuable perspective for physical therapists. Elmer Platz, PT

Guest guest
Great question! I'm enjoying the responses. Switch: How to Change Things When Change is Hard, by Chip and Dan Heath (they also wrote Made to Stick: Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die). The Heaths have a nice writing style and I happened to read this book at a time I was preparing to initiate changes in our workplace. Listen Up, Leader! by Cottrell. Very short, but a great book for anyone starting out in a leadership role. It's very practical and not a bad idea to go back and read now and then.
