TITLE: Program Officer STARTING SALARY: Depending on qualifications and experience LOCATION: New Delhi, India ASSIGNMENT LENGTH: 11 months (likely to be renewed) JOB DESCRIPTION The incumbent will support the implementation of research and program activities in the HIV and AIDS Program; provide technical assistance and capacity building to partners in high HIV prevalence states of India including governmental and non-government organizations (NGOs) on ensuring high quality research and program implementation among women, migrants and HIV positive individuals. The program officer will monitor data collection and analysis. In addition, the incumbent will write proposals, reports, papers for peer-reviewed publication using the data gathered from various projects in HIV and AIDS program. The position is based in New Delhi but will involve travel to field based sites. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE 1. MBBS or MD or Masters degree in public health or population sciences 2. At least 3-5 years of professional experience in public health, HIV/STI, and/ or sexual and reproductive health delivery programs, with exposure to clinical care, operations research, surveillance and/or laboratory testing is desirable. 3. Strong analytical, writing and problem solving skills are essential 4. Professional experience in conducting and monitoring large research or program and proven publication record are essential 5. Ability to work independently as well as a demonstrated capacity to function as a member of a team is essential 6. Willingness to travel is a requirement.
