DEAR FORUM,

Re: /message/9203

Yes, the criteria are not very comfortable for PLHIV

What does one mean by open status- why? Telling family and friends or beyond to

a media publicity?

Why should s/he not be associated with networks: it is not possible to person to

not have any institutional affiliation and still be empowered enough.

It may have been added to prevent conflict of interest but is not feasible.

We would request NACO/SACS to reconsider the guidelines for GIPA and make them

more flexible in order to get genuine participation, else the purpose will be

defeated and people will start questioning the need for GIPA.

Dear Forum Friends,

Greetings.

Re: /message/9210

I am fully agree with Rajasekhar. Firstly,When GIPA means Greater Involvement Of

PLHA,then he or she should open about his or her HIV status. This not fare that

he or she will open his or her HIV status in close door then how we can reduce

the stigma and discrimination where the moto of GIPA involvement is to reduce

stigma and discrimination in the society.

Secondly,A GIPA Coordinatore should not be from any network, but network is

formed to advocate for our issues for the benifit of our community(Which can be

directly or indirectly to impliment GIPA at all levels),to get latest

information,to live a healthly life. Can we say that way SACS are not ready to

give importance to the PLHIV network or they want that type of GIPA Coordinatore

who will hold the position by name shake, who will work for not for the PLHIV

benifit only work for the non PLHIV benifit, like all the time " Yes Boss " type.

I think our National Network INP+ gave some recommendation to NACO regarding the

qualification and experience, but I think this NACO and SACS they do not bother

it and that is why they are doing like that way.

I think SACS want to impliment GIPA only they have to impliment that is why,

they do not bother MIPA(Meaningful Involvement Of PLHIV).

In West Bengal we have new GIPA Coordinatore. That Coordinatore only loves to

talk in the close door. Nobody does not know that Coordinator is HIV Positive or

HIV Non Positive. If that coordinatore is non positive then our WBSACS did like

that way what Jharkhand SACS did.

If that Coordinatore is HIV Positive then that Coordinatore should be mentally

positive also.He or She should reduce the stigma from him or herself first then

only he or she can do good for our PLHIV community and also reduce the stigma

from our society.

I do not know how that Coordinatore got this job. May be that Coordinatore has

somebody in NACO or in WBSACS OR in TSU who helped that Coordinatore to get that

job?.

I think written and interview was like eye-wash. I am telling this because when

NACO or SACS are asking for Graduation,I know that Coordinatore is Graduate and

also doing MSW and also in 2nd year, I know that type of other candidates who

appeared for that written and interview, is also Graduate and also waiting for

the result for final year of M.A(Bengali) and also did LAMP course from Xevier

institute of Bhubaneswar sponsered by UNDP also very good in computer also very

good in communication and also that candidate has very good experience.

I do not know why that candidate did not get chance. That candidate has the name

in 3rd position in pannel, but the second one and first one in the pannel both

are from same organisation.

That is why I am saying, somebody is there may in NACO,or in WBSACS or in WBTSU

who helped to get it.

Can you tell me friends, what is it call? Is it fare recruitment for the

betterment of PLHIV Community or is it really a dirty politics?

With Love,

Farzana Begum.
