Guest guest
In my own experience, yes, this can happen. However, I am also 70, have had MS since I was 19, and I suspect that Avonex helps reduce the formation of new lesions, but is by no means a cur for the process. Copaxone may be an option. Cancel panic, , for now until you learn more. The biggie is how you are functioning on a daily basis. I had far more exacerbations in the first two decades after my diagnosis than I do now, for whatever reason. We are here to read, to offer our concern and caring, and to sympathise. I hope that you get many other responses as well. Love to you, your plaques and your lesions as well as your brain and your spine--yes, I do have lesions on my spine and in my brain stem. . . n On Wed, Feb 20, 2008 at 1:55 PM, One Smart Cookie wrote: > > > > > Hello, everyone. Guest guest
While I was on copaxone my lesions still went up. From 4 to 6 to 10 to now 14. I am now on Rebif. The lesion count doesn't bother me as long as I don't have symptoms. Right now fingers crossed, I am experiencing more mental that physical MS problems. Take a deep breath and watch yourself. Guest guest
Hello Again . Wow! A 6 hour MRI? That is a long mri. I know it is scary hearing there are more lesions but I think it goes by the way you progress. Do you have alot of symptoms? Does it seem you have got worse? Did you already go to your f/u visit to discuss the mri results? Dont worry. I know it is tough not knowing but we all understand and are here for you. It helps to have others that really do understand what we are going through. Take care. hugz, cassy Does this happen? New lesions during 1 year on meds?? Hello, everyone. I hope you are doing well. My neurologist just called me in for tomorrow to go over the results of that 6-hour MRI that I just had during my hospital stay of last week. I begged her to speak to me a bit over the phone and tell me SOMEthing/ANYthing and all she would say is that " there are two new lesions on your spine and they are exacerbated and we need to do blood tests immediately to find out if you have built antibodies against Avonex. " I am terrified. Beyond all reason. Can anyone tell me if this is common? Do people who are ON medication STILL get new lesions? Oh my God. Do they?? Thank you for any information you can offer up. As a one-year diagnosee of this condition there is so much I do not know. And everyone here knows so much. Thank you! thepressmaven@... Never miss a thing. Make Yahoo your homepage. Guest guest
Thank you, Kate!I just returned from the neuro appointment and it has happened - I have just been taken OFF Avonex and put ON Copaxone. Whole new drug to learn about.Anyone on this drug? Believe it or not, until the Copaxone drug company instructor arrives at my house to show me every single thing, I don't even know if it is a subcute like Avonex. I think it's a daily injection. Advice more than welcome! :)Kate Rothschild wrote: I agree! Great post n~ What 'she' said, ! We are here for you! love from NY, Kate Re: Does this happen?
