Guest guest Posted February 18, 2008 Report Share Posted February 18, 2008 hi everyone!my poem has received a 9.6 out of ten so far and 41 votes. i am totally excited! this is a great beginning- i am hoping for as many votes over the 20 minimum to win a potentially great cash prize. i desperately need the money, but in all honesty, the thing is to be recognized as a good poet. how ambitious i have become since my first tentative beginning where i was convinced my poem would just get buried with all the entries they receive! so, once again, please vote for me, as the more votes i get the better my chances. thanks soooo much to everyone who has already voted for me. here is my poem VACILLATIONS again with the link to vote.http://www.poetry.com/voteforme/poemvote1.asp?PID=12619553 Vacillations Love has many forms Between the lover and the loved. The lover's: single-minded, pure The loved one's not so sure. Does it take the vacillations Of the tougher one's reserve- The reserve to create a distance, The reserve to clearly be heard? And what of the unflinching fervor Of the lover's sweet devotion- Can it be faulted despite the claims Of poets' timeless potion? I don't quite know the answer, But sometimes I suspect The two are so alien to both to cause love's deep respect.
