This is a good reminder. Here in Ohio last week, an 11-year-old boy on a

hike with his Boyscout troop died from heat exhaustion and dehydration.

Several years ago, I suffered from heat exhaustion at a baseball game. So

it's easy for people to forget to keep hydrated.

My husband and I went to a camp for blind adults last week in Napa

Valley, CA. The first 2 days were hotter than.! I got dehydrated

despite drinking what I thought was gallons of water; my blood pressure

dropped to 50/40 and almost fainted. The nurse there loaded me down

with Gatorade and water and I recovered. Just a reminder to drink twice

as much water if you are out in the heat! It was a really awful

feeling.

Hi Pat,

Another good thing for people to remember is that if you don't drink enough

water and become dehydrated you can have a stroke because the blood becomes

thick and sluggish and can clot easier. We as diabetics are more prone to

strokes to begin with. That's what happened to me. So, everyone, Drink

your water!
