Guest guest Posted April 9, 2011 Report Share Posted April 9, 2011 Dear , Yes, you will have to upgrade to MediSoft V16 or higher to be ready for ansi5010. We have a small billing company and all of our clients are on MediSoft and accordingly, each had to upgrade in order to be ready for ansi5010. We agreed, with some reluctance, to allow one of our clients to use their IT guy to do the installation versus the MediSoft dealer that sold the software. What a nightmare! I strongly recommend using Med Tech. When I return to my office on Monday, I will forward you their contact information. They were also the ones that fixed the mess the other IT guy created! Additionally, after we upgraded to V16 (this version has a lot of glitches), V17 came out. I would also advise that you pay the extra money and upgrade to V17. Hope this helps. In the past we have had our own IT person install it without problem. The concern I had with the quote we got is that it had two fees. One was called “Revenue Manager Direct†and the other was for “installation, setup training and supportâ€. Both fees totaled 1 ½ times what the software alone cost and something just seemed fishy. We have never heard or paid a “Revenue Manager Direct†fee nor have we paid so much for installation. I am awaiting explanation from the software rep but I needed to check first. We use CompuHealth North West and I compared their prices to other dealers before making the upgrade and their prices were very comparable to others. They offer great costumer service as well.
