Guest guest
Hi, I am not sure but just guessing. It could be diet coke relabelled, this is what they do in Australia with diet pepsy, rebadge it as pepsy max to make it more appealing to younger people. 0 coke is my choice if I'm mixing it with grog. Cheers, Brett. Coca-Cola Zero I usually drink Diet Pepsi and have for a lot of years. I had a bottle of Coca Cola Zero today which is not specifically labeled as diet, but it APPEARS to have no sugar or much of anything for that matter, but I must admit it tasted good and it didn't spike my sugar at all. The question I pose is how is this different from any diet drink and what's the CATCH with this one? Not enough ingredient information to go on either. Guest guest
Thanks for the info Dave. Coke Zero MUST be a diet drink. At least it tastes good, to me it tastes much better than regular Diet Coke. It actually doesn't even taste like diet. Bill Powers

Guest guest
If the ingredient list is small, it means simply, there aren't many ingredients. Dave RE: Coca-Cola Zero And Coke Zero contains 0 carbs, according to the label. The list of ingredients is not very lengthy on the bottle I bought so don't know what all is even in it. Guest guest
Apparently, the difference in Coke Zero and diet Coke is the name. They are trying to market it toward men, who would associate diet with women. Guest guest
Bill I might have to try Coke 0 based on what you said. I have never been able to stand any diet softdrinks. My friends who drink them all the time keep telling me I'll get used to the taste and come to like it. But I have tried and just can't. So even though I no longer keep any kind of softdrinks at home, I do drink a regular Coke or Pepsi when I go out. But I'll give Coke 0 a try. Guest guest
estingly enough it tastes different to diet coke, more like the original, which makes me wonder if they are using a different sweetener in it. I didn't think it tasted any different to the regular coke till I took a sip of my husgand's drink, and wow, that was so much sweeter. I don't know if I could tell if I had one or the other and didn't know, but boy a comparison was sure interesting. We're using the coke 0 now. Hugs, Maggie. Guest guest
It's interesting that both Zero and Diet Coke would appear to be the same, but they both have a very different taste. Bill

Guest guest
I never drink a regular soda, just plain too much sugar. Most of the time now I drink brewed iced tea and use either Splenda or Equal and it's quite satisfying. Once in awhile I drink Diet Pepsi, and always have that on hand. Coke Zero seems to be a good alternative though. Bill
Guest guest
Maggie, My take on Zero, was that it tasted like regular soda, but yet I knew it was not as sweet as regular Coke. I can't tolerate the regular soda because it just has too much sugar and feels syrupy going down my throat. I sure did like the taste of Zero and if it's diet, that's all the better. I think there is less of a distinction in Europe for diet and regular, as their regular drinks don't have but half the sugar that ours do to begin with, unless they've " Americanized " in the last few years. How I wish sodas had less sugar. I've certainly been content with diet for many years now, but certainly a soda that tastes like Zero is welcome and if nothing unsavory is associated with it, that's fine. Guest guest
Bill, I'm not sure how much sugar our regular drinks have here, but to ma, coke 0 tasted the same till I compared it alongside the original, I think once I'm used to diet drinks, I'll find the regular way too sweet. Guest guest
Maggie, I think you're right that the only way to tell the difference between Zero and regular is to taste-compare. And to that point I wish I could find sugar sticks that you can put in a drink so you can see if they're actually diet or loaded with sugar, but I've never found such sticks. That would be a real eye opener. I agree with you that if I tasted the two sodas side by side the real Coke would be sweeter, which I don't like. Zero is perfectly acceptable to me, flavor without that syrupy sweetness. I've long ago given up regular sodas and can't or won't drink any of those. Guest guest
I think they are using Splenda in the coke zero and another type sweetner in the old fashioned diet Coke.
