Hello group,

I've recently been approached by a dentist friend of mine that has a

contract with the county jail system to provide dental care. He was

approached by the jail to see whether he knew of a Rehab provider to offer

Rehab services to the same jail system, so he asked if I was interested.

I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with something like this

before. I'm not sure how they reimburse or what fee schedule they base it

on, but I know that I have to bid for it. I would appreciate any help

someone can give me regarding this issue. I would like to bid on this and

not make a fool of myself, because my only experience is with out-patient

PT/OT facilities.

The jail system is probably a medicaid system or the jail has to pay from their

funds. It would probably be like out-patient so payment could be from different

sources. More than likely what you will be bidding on is just the piece that

would be paid by the jail out of their funds. I would be happy to discuss via

I once contracted with a county jail and billed the jail via the physician fee

schedule Medicare rates. The county paid the the bill. I do not believe they

turned around and billed any private insurance or Medicaid.

There may be some down time involved so you may want to consider a flat hourly

rate.

rate so there were/are no insurance issues to deal with. Just had to bid on the
