Guest guest
Does anyone have or know of any resource, whether it be online or paper--based, that has a list of the ICD-9 codes that qualify under the IRF 60% rule for the 13 diagnosis categories? In other words, is there a list somewhere that provides ICD-9 codes for the 13 diagnostic categories that Medicare requires for IRFs? Thanks! Guest guest
*Mark,* * * *Go to this link on the IRF PPS CMS website page.* * * *http://www.cms.gov/InpatientRehabFacPPS/03_Criteria.asp#TopOfPage* * * *Read this entire page, then a**lthough the link says 'top of page', ignore that and go to the bottom of the page to find the file that says Oct, 1st, 2007 IRF Compliance Rule Specification files, it is a zip file. (These were the last released. If you need rules for prior that is the third file down under Downloads).* * * *When you open that file you will find 'Determining IRF Compliance' as a PDF, * *you will then want to open Appendix B which provides you the ICD-9's that are NOT presumptive as well as Appendix C which are ICD-9's and the effective dates added. You can download those either as pdf's or excel files.* * * *Hope this helps!* * *Darlene L.
