Guest guest
Dear Kai, I concur with about Cardon tables. I just invested in two more and they have worked very well. In my own experience, 12 hours days are unsustainable in the long run and can compromise the ability to do long term planning, financial projections/budgets and other important stuff. Certainly there are 'surges' where work is all I do, then ebbs when I can catch up and be present fully to my family, staff and long term vision. Good for you for identifying the need to expand your staffing and congratulations at drawing more clients. Clearly you are doing a lot of things right! Our client load is such that I feel that it is not conducive to PTA utilization. If I had a higher load of protocol treatments, I may consider it. Certainly there are outstanding PTAs, but as a consumer myself, I require a perceived sense of exceptional value with each PT visit I go to. This is emphasized further with a $30 co-pay for each visit. Our clients are highly educated on their condition and have very high expectations for each visit as well as the knowledge base of the clinician that they are working with. If I would pay a $30 co-pay to see a knock your socks off PTA, I would consider it. I protect the client's experience and the clinic's reputation at all costs. I may meet my projections later than expected because of this choice but a bad hire can result in negative and memorable effects to staff morale and the clinic's reputation. Monetarily, it sure makes excellent sense to employ a PTA however, thus far, I personally have chosen not to do so. Thanks to you and the group for the excellent peer support that this list serve provides!
