Guest guest
Our best recruiting tool has been our student program. We also do two paid six week positions in the summers for students either applying to PT school or currently in PT school. For those positions, we usually hire people from the area, and their duties are similar to those of aides, and then we schedule in learning opportunities for them. Of course, they do not do any hands on care. We have had some of these people come back to work for us as therapists. These are more long term solutions, rather than short term solutions. Does anyone have any experience and/or recommendations on successful recruiting methods, companies, etc? We had recently utilized a recruiting firm and paid a placement fee and the therapist stayed only 8 months. If you prefer to contact me directly you may do so at dbohl@... <mailto:dbohl%40phillipshospital.org> or (785)540-4918. Guest guest
le, It's funny you mention the recruiting company, I'm going through the same thing now. All the recruiting agencies around here want a 20% of the PT salary upfront and they only guarantee 90 days. I don't know, but to me that's insane. I just can't wrap my head around that, and I don't really understand why PTs are opting to use these agencies, I'd rather pay more to the PT directly.
