you should go to your employer. You probably would not have nor could get into

any networks on your own at this time. We typically terminate the PT's when they

leave our facility from any individual contracts. Most of our contracts are now

group including Medicare.

Hope this helps

Do I need new provider numbers?

I'm starting my practice in a few months. Currently I have provider numbers for

Medicare, BCBS, etc through my employer. They did all the leg work when I

signed on and bill for my PT services under those. What I'm wondering is should

I go to them to get those numbers back when the time comes, or should I just

re-apply? Do they have the right to say 'no' since they did the work to apply

and covered whatever costs were incurred?

Thanks

Jan, some Licensing Boards will sell their data base to appropriate

companies/individuals.

-- Since the various States maintain licensure lists, which are public

records, they are generally available from the appropriate State

APTA used to rent their mailing labels for specific purposes, such as continuing

ed. Also, Chapters and Sections may do so. Also, some licensing boards also sell

their mailing list. A significant non-dues revenue source.

The APTA database only includes APTA members and the APTA does not sell that

database. I have found no way to purchase a PT database with email addresses,

etc., but would love to be able to purchase such a database.
