Guest guest
We usually incorporate it into our manual tx And add another unit (if time was appropriate) Or use neuro re-ed if there are some postural Or stability issues. You can use the strapping And taping codes, but we were reimbursed Better the other way. Hope that helps Damon Whitfield > For those PT's who apply kinesiotaping, what CPT code is appropriate to use? > Thank you for any information. > Debbie Holloway, MPT > >

Guest guest
Chirocode.com has an article referencing this and suggests the strapping codes. The article gives the basis for it's use: http://www.chirocode.com/chirocode/ht/05081.html Cheri Freeman, CMRS Manager of Account Services Healthcare Reimbursement Services Austin, TX > > For those PT's who apply kinesiotaping, what CPT code is appropriate to use? > Thank you for any information. > Debbie Holloway, MPT > >

Guest guest
First, let me say that I have never billed strapping codes for kinesiotape, I usually apply it in conjunction with manual techniques or directly following manual techniques so have just included the time it takes (what, 1 min, 2 maybe) in with my manual therapy minutes. In reading the posts on this topic and looking for what is commonly paid for strapping codes I came across the following link, seems pretty comprehensive, please don't see it as my endorsement of " spider-tech " for although I am sure they have a great product, I have never used it, I like to cut the tape myself. http://www.theratape.com/education-center/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/SpiderTech_\ Billing_Codes_Guide.pdf E s, PT, DPT, Orthopedic Clinical Specialist Fellow American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists www.douglasspt.com > > > > For those PT's who apply kinesiotaping, what CPT code is appropriate to use? > > Thank you for any information. > > Debbie Holloway, MPT > > > >
Guest guest
If doing in preparation prior to therapeutic exercises or neuromuscular re-education techniques, the time required for the kinesiotaping would be part of that code. If doing at the conclusion of TX to support a joint due to a FX, dislocation, sprain, strain, etc., I would tell you to choose the appropriate CPT code for strapping located in the 29200-29280 for the U/E and back and 29520-29550 for the L/E.
