opt out of insurance

I am curious about setting up a part time private practice and have a few

questions. Can you " opt-out " of Medicare and just submit paperwork to

patients so they can file on their own. Are there any pros-cons to this.

My practice would have limited patient caseload / treatment diagnosis and

see target people in home or work. If I decided to grow, then I would of

course need to set up extensive billing but I am really thinking small

caseload at this time. I would want to see different age groups.

I am working on my DPT and will have a billing course later on but wanted to

get a beginning handle on this.
