Guest guest
Initial assessments done in patient's room, no access in acute floors to a " gym " , treatment from then on are BID Leonor >>> SKIP ROY 6/13/2011 7:57 AM >>> We see them in their rooms except for the use of a small gym where we teach stair training. We shoot for BID treatment since their LOS's are so short. Guest guest
We see our total joint patients twice daily POD1 and POD2, once POD3 if they stay that long. We do their initial session in their rooms and all subsequent sessions in our gym which can have up to 7 patients at a time (7 mat tables--no group therapy), unless the patient is not doing well medically. We do all of our therapeutic exercise, gait training, stair training in the gym to get patients out of their rooms. They are dressed in regular clothing so we don't have to worry about gowns etc... We are moving to all of our knee patients going home POD2 and hip patients either POD2 or POD3.
