Guest guest
Here is one in trade. I use my rice cooker for this, but you could just as easily do it on the stove, bringing it to boil and then turning down to cook like you would cook rice. The last time I made it, I substituted half of the lentils with barley and it was very good! Savory Lentils 1 Tablespoon Broth or water 1/2 teaspoon curry powder 1 teaspoon cumin 1 cup brown lentils -- washed 2 1/2 cups water 14 ounces can tomato pieces with juice 2 Tablespoons dehydrated onion 2 Tablespoons dried parsley 1 teaspoon dried celery flakes salt and fresh ground pepper Spray rice cooker container with nonstick cooking spray. Turn rice cooker on; add broth, curry powder and cumin. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes to bring out curry and cumin flavors. Add remaining ingredients, cover and cook until rice cooker shuts off.
