Guest guest
Little r Experiments A fellow list member, namely inspired me to run some experiments regarding my little r. So I did, and here is what I learned doing these experiments. I learned that my instructions regarding how to discover your little r was wrong. In putting my little r of 0.4 to the tests. It helped me to recall what my original little r actually was. Because my computer crashed a while back I had lost all of my experiments I conducted in discovering my r. As a scientist I believe in the scientific method. The scientific method is very boring to many people, because at the bottom line it stresses the importance of obtaining " reproduceable results " . In going over the same methods and procedures time after time it can help revive memories regarding past results and experimental failures. This is why it is important to follow exactly as possible the procedures outlined in discovering your little r. Doing the experiments helped me recall that my little r was not 0.4, but it was actually near0.41 or 0.42. It also helped me recall the crutial point of doing the little r experiments in the first place. I will have to revise my instructions on finding your little r, so you will also get the crucial point of the experiments. Remember I said experiments, not experiment. The scientific method requires numerous trials and errors to discover what is and what is not reproduceable. My experiments are still in progress. The results and procedures are presented below: Stay tuned for further happenings.
