Time to step up an help our colleagues in California From

MyPhysicalTherapySpace.com Second NBC POPTS Story in 4 Days - Need Comments

to Keep the Story Alive

June 20 - AB 783, a California bill to legalize the employment of physical

therapists by physicians, was NOT reconsidered today. Apparently the

author, Hayashi, did not feel she had enough votes to get the bill

passed out of the Senate Business & Professions committee.

*Did the News Media and Social Media Play a Role?*

NBC News in Los Angeles was so surprised by the number of readers and

comments that they decided to do a follow up story (click here for

up<http://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/Physical-Therapy-Bill-Delayed-1242230\

on their Friday story (click here for the original

Last we checked, there were more comments, tweets and recommends about the

POPTS story than the pop culture Playboy story of Hugh Hefner's wedding

being called off.

The more comments we make, the longer the abuse of patients by POPTS clinics

will remain in the public spotlight.

---------------------

Note: Abuse is an appropriate word per CMS definitions:

*Abuse includes any practice that is not consistent with the goals of

providing patients with services that

(1) are medically necessary,

(2) meet professionally recognized standards, and

(3) are fairly priced.*

---------------------

The three things we've learned about politics - you have to have thick skin,

endurance, and a blog :-)

Keep up the good work and from all of the CA physical therapists, thank to

our colleagues for supporting our efforts here in CA. We look forward to

returning the favor!
