I had a patient with Botox injection for upper trap spasticity. She ended up

with scapular winging, and difficulty elevating her arm. Pain was helped but at

the expense of weakness. I don't think she would have chosen to do it again,

after having to work so hard with scapular retraction/ depression ex. She never

fully gained it back.

Subject: Botox

Does anyone have any experience with a patient using botox injections to lessen

the spasticity of an upper extremity? Any long term problems (shoulder

subluxing)? I have a 64 yr old male with left hemiparesis due to congenital CP.

He is independent in most adl's and uses a quad cane for ambulation. His

siblings wants to relax his LUE. Thanks in advance for all your input.
