Guest guest
Hello all, For those that do this, do you include owner's bonuses in your cost per visit or back that out of the expense portion of the calculation? Thanks, Steve Rapposelli, PT, OCS Performance PT Delaware
Guest guest
Owner profit or bonus is usually backed out, but for comparison purposes, a standardization is made for owners salary. Chuck Felder at HCS Consulting (HCSconsulting.com) does a great job of compiling PT benchmarking data and might be a good resource for you. FYI - I am not financially associated with Chuck in any way, but I do participate in his annual benchmarking projects.  D. Guest guest
In my PT Benchmark studies I standardize the owners wage to cover the labor they provide to the practice, just as if they were a non active owner and had to hire a manager. Any compensation above that is part of the profit and not part of the expenses used to calculate cost per visit or cost per licensed hour. We also remove any " perks " they may take that they would not provide a staff person. Chuck R.
