Guest guest
Hi and thanks for the feeback re champus/tricare. We live in upstate NY and we are just tricare Standard...there is nothing but that here for now. They are planning to make us a tricare remote site being that we are so far away from Groton naval Hospital which is the closest military medical installation. My hubby is active duty and we have a $1000 cap meaning that once we excede that figure, Tricare will pick up 100%. I don't think it is going to take much to get over that $1000 with this surgery ;-) Thanks, T

Guest guest
hi my husband is currently in the airforce and my experience with this has been different. we are tricare prime and we have a pcm right here on base and we don not pay 250.00$ a year. we pay a co pay but no deductible either. i am haveing the surgery done in may, and i have been approved. dr fobi will be doing my surgery and he is in the tricare network we just found out. but even if he wasnt you can have what evr doc you want do the sugery but he has to be willing to accept what your insurance pays or you will pay the difference. in my case dr fobi accepts tricare. Guest guest
I've been a member a little over amonth but this is my first time to respone. I've e-mailed and been in contact with Dr.R for alittle while and he just great veru caring and helpful. See in 91' I had my stomah banded but have had lots of problems and other surgries to try and help anyway I've gained back alot of my weight and health problems again so I started looking into Dr.'s and found Dr.R to be the best in this feild. I too am a military dependent and we live in North Dakota and I have tricare prime and a good relationship with my pcm so first they sent me to a Dr. I'd seem before for this problem but he feels I should just deit and be happy i've still lost weight my weight was372(91) now 245 so he says a40% loss is good anyway Unknown to me Dr.R had sent a request in to tricare on my behalf to do my surgry so now am waiting to see what theywill do since he is out of our area but Ican go ther without problem cause my son-n-law is from there and would have a place to stay so It's been about aweek and am getting nervous to hear hope it's soon will let you all know out come.
