Guest guest
Just a good-natured note to those who suggest Jimmy Dorsey, Glenn , Benny Goodman, or other performers/bands from the 1940s or so. Today's geriatric patient may well have grown up listening to Elvis, the Beach Boys, and the Beatles--if not more recent performers. Within the past year, PT in Motion's " The Funny Bone " has had two anecdotes regarding the " older " population. In November 2010, a PT told the story of a patient whose memory was triggered by the 1970s song " Signs " by the Five Man Electrical Band (which, incidentally, still tours). This past July, " The Funny Bone " described a patient living in an assisted living facility whose favorite songs are by , Donna Summer, and Earth, Wind, and Fire. For many patients who are older, performers from the 1940s often were enjoyed by their parents, not them.
