Guest guest
I was utterly floored by some fellow PT's last week. I was involved in a focus group with 7 or 8 other PT managers from various regions. The meeting was for a documentation software company. During Q & A's I mentioned that the company needed to fix a problem: the documentation system couldn't bill for two separate diagnoses. I posed an example of treating a knee and shoulder patient - treat with ther ex 30 minutes on the shoulder, and 30 minutes on the knee. The program combines the minutes on a billing submission template so that you can only choose one diagnosis code for the " 60 minutes. " No other PT on the conference call had an issue with this. One of them stated " we just bill under one of the codes, like the knee. " I couldn't believe that no one else on the call found this incorrect. So overall this particular PT's note for my example would document 30 minutes for shoulder, 30 minutes for knee, and he'd be billing 60 minutes for the knee. Bisesi MPT COMT Winter Haven, Fl.
