Guest guest
Hey Group, Anyone familiar with surface EMG use in the clinic to asses mmuscle tone? Is the technology reliable enough to produce results that we can use? I saw a chiro clinic using it and was intrigued. Thought i'd ask if anyone has used it specifically in a private practice PT clinic. Thanks!
Guest guest
, My clinic uses sEMG as a tool for neuro re-ed (i.e. VMO vs. VLO contraction) as well as biofeedback for patients that have increased tone (say for example in the frontalis). I use the Chattanooga unit that has ultrasound/stim/EMG. The only advise that I would give it to be very detailed on pad positioning over multiple treatments as different placements will produce different EMG artifacts.
