Guest guest
, It might sound like an off-topic subject to talk about prosthetics or the anxiety related to getting one, but keep in mind that while ocular prosthetics are for blind and partially sighted diabetics and nondiabetics, care for the prosthetics and proper fitting is of greater concern for those who do have diabetes. Since diabetes affects every part of the body, it certainly does affect the eye sockets and we need to be aware of the process. Granted, yes, the thread did get a little out of hand, and I include myself in that group, however, because of the great fear on the part of some in getting prosthetics or proper care for same, I erred on te side of injecting some anxiety-breaking humor to hopefully give the process a much less " clinical " image. Those of us who want to continue talking about this should take it off list, but to the extent applicable, if this has helped anybody deal with their prosthetics in a better light, it has certainly been worth having this discussion.
