Guest guest
It could be that he has a build up of toxins in his lymph gland. I had one under my arm do that. Make sure he drinks plenty of water. I went to my son's cranial-sacral therapist and she massaged it. It hurt bad when she did it, but it went away. My aunt, on the other hand, had the same thing, but went to the doctor. They have done a couple surgeries on hers. I'd rather do what I did. You might try something like that to see if it goes away. If not then you can go the doctor route. Diane [ ] swollen gland in his neck Hi My son Ben 4.6 years has a swollen gland in his neck, he had it months ago and the doctor said he must have hurt his head some where and made his gland infected so he put Ben on antibiotics. Anyway it has comeback even bigger and the doctor gave him more antibiotics but said if it didn't go down it could be a sign that he has some sort of lymphoma. Could all the chelation we have been doing have brought his immunity down and that is why it has come back. He's been on the antibiotics for about a week now and it has gone down in size but does seem to still be a bit swollen. Marie
Guest guest
when i was taking potent antifungals, i got swollen glands under my chin/jaw. it hurt but i felt it was a sign that my body was fighting the die-off of yeast. it eventually went away. at the same time, i also got some sort of hard cyst right behind/below my ear. i went to my holistic dr who also does carnio-sacral, myo-fascial bodywork. he massaged it and put pressure on it. the next day it started going away. he said my drainage system had been blocked. the day before, i had gone to a traditional dermatologist who did nothing and told me to come back for surgery in a month if it didn't go away. boy, i'm glad i let my holistic dr work on it. i was doubtful at the time but it definitely did the trick... if you do go to a cranio-sacral practitioner, makes sure it's a good one. i would think anitbiotics are not a good thing to take for it...but if you do, make sure you are giving a lot of probiotics. let us know what happens. julie Date: Sun, 6 Oct 2002 07:34:57 -0500 From: " Diane " <ddudzik@...> Subject: Re: swollen gland in his neck It could be that he has a build up of toxins in his lymph gland. Guest guest
Last year, when my son had a very runny nose, his lymph nodes on the sides of his neck were very huge. I gave him Monolaurin for about 6 weeks and kept warm water bottles on the swollen lymph nodes many times a day for about a month. This got rid of the swelling, and it has never gotten like that again. Guest guest
You might also try calendula (a common flower, actually, as well as a medicinal herb) which is reputed to help cleanse and move the lymphatic system. I know it could be used as a tea, and probably as a poultice. Beware though, if it is lymphoma (cancer) you would NOT want to move it around (i.e. use stuff that gets the lymph moving. Not sure if lymphoma would respond to antibiotics, seems doubtful... Also, just moving the body can help move the lymph. There are other detoxifying herbs (burdock, dandelion, yellow dock, etc) that might also help. Many detox teas are available that are safe and really do work. The lymphatic system moves wastes, toxins, dead cells, etc., so, I'd take this swelling as a sign that there might be some detoxification in order. > Hi > My son Ben 4.6 years has a swollen gland in his neck, he had it > months ago and the doctor said he must have hurt his head some where > and made his gland infected so he put Ben on antibiotics. I thought I should try to write something general about lymph, but just didn't do it. The post about using radish and ?potato? was also great. One of the BEST things for lymph system is deep breathing. VERY good. Could probably make it into a decent game for a kid. As noted above, exercise ANY KIND that is aerobic, is good. Walking is fine. There are specific kinds of massage for the lymph system, but any kind of massage will help somewhat. (I mean body massage in general, not massage of the swollen part). Skin brushing is specific for lymph movement-- you can buy a brush designed for this at some HFS's. Brush up from feet to stomach and down from fingertips to stomach. [Or ask them for a book that describes how to do it.] The lymph system *tends* to back up when one is ill. So all the stuff for clearing the illness would also be likely to help, if this is so in your particular case [ e.g. for viral illnesses stuff like garlic, echinacea, vitamin C, yarrow/elderflower/ peppermint tea (which causes sweating), etc.] best wishes, Moria Moria
