Guest guest
Trista, I will definitely support your efforts. I am a homeschooler in Texas so I definitely advocate homeschooling. I have a dyslexic son, who is homeschooled. I also have a son who has Asperger's, although I am not homeschooling him. He is a program that is a good fit for him, but previously public school failed him - horribly. I hope California rules in favor of homeschooling parents. Keep doing what you do. I will be watching what happens in California. Please help http://www.hslda. org/hs/state/ ca/200803120. asp Friends and family, The link above takes you to the Home School Legal Defense Assoc. They have a petition there to have the CA Supreme Court depublish the opinion made by the Court of Appeal for the Second Appellate District. This is VERY important to me as a homeschooling mother of 2 boys with autism. They were failed by our schools repeatedly. I wouldn't be asking, if this wasn't such an important matter. If they can do this in CA, they can do it in your state too. WE are the parents. I raise my children, I do not want the State to tell me how to raise them. Please consider supporting us and our rights to homeschool, by signing this petition. Thank you all! Guest guest
, bless your heart. My boys with special needs are 14 w/ Asperger's, ADHD, Tourette's, and 11 w/ HFA, OCD. Good to meet you. Not sure if I welcomed you yet. My life has been very stressful lately, and I've had to skim and delete my emails. Both of my boys were being tormented in public school. My 11 year old (9 then) was being beat up DAILY, and no one notified me. He would come home everyday and say that it had been his worst day ever. Finally I got it out of him. He was supposed to have an aide at ALL times, but the principal decided that she should take her lunch when he was at lunch recess. The very time he would be most vulnerable. Out amongst the bullies, with only 1 yard supervisor who couldn't possibly know everything that went on out there. He started to become aggressive and difficult. He is much better now. My oldest was supposed to get an Alpha Smart to take notes on, because he has a hard time writing due to hand tremors. This was written in the IEP BEFORE school started for the year. Come next April, he still did not have it, because they misplaced the power cords. There are several of us here that HS our kids, and several who have special needs in our family. Guest guest
I have a granddaughter with Aspergers and I am the primary homeschooler for her and her 3 siblings.
