Hi Cassy,Just a thought that hit while reading about your symptoms - take it for what it is, ok? It may be just stupid...Have SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, also known as just "lupus") been considered and ruled out in your case? The reason I'm asking is because, as I understood it, the doctors suspects some kind of autoimmune disease affecting the nervous system, and then also some rare muscle disease to explain for your muscle pain etc. That could very well be it - of course! But the thing is that SLE is an autoimmune disease that can hit just about anything in the body (nervous system, muscles, joints, kidneys, skin etc etc), that's what the term "systemic" stands for. But what gets "hit" is very different from person to person. The neuro who finally diagnosed with MS, did first want to rule out SLE for sure, after consulting a rheumatologist (those are the experts dealing with SLE) who told him that it COULD affect only the nervous system and nothing else (at least in an eary stage). It would be rare, but it was possible. If that's true, then why not a case of SLE that affects the nervous system and the muscles? And then I also thought about a neighbour of 's parents who is suffering from SLE. Much of her symptoms remind med of yours.I Just wanted to mention this, and to ask you if it's been considered. It probably has and it's probably a stupid question ;) love and much good luck in your hunt for a diagnosis/Reb
