Guest guest
My clinic is closing. It is classified as a Rehab Agency which means there always has to be 2 employees present to treat. I may be able to sublease the space from the Agency, but to make it affordable for now, I would need to do it with just 1 employee (me). This would, I guess, require me to resign and sublet as my own business so that I didn't have to follow the Agency Rules. Would I be able to use the Rehab Agency for billing so I could use their current insurance company provider numbers for timely (cough, cough) reimbursement? If not, could I instead retroactively bill after a 90 day-ish wait for my new insurance company provider numbers and as their employee? Or should I resign and then retroactively bill as my own company? Any help is greatly appreciated. Steve PT land
Guest guest
Hi Steve, In Texas the provider code is assigned to the treating therapist for any given insurance company. When I started working for a company three years ago, CareNOW, they applied for provider #'s while I was working at their other clinics. I believe they used the other provider's # while mine was in the works. I would think the land system would be similar... Good luck!
