Before I took Nyquil, I'd look up interactions, as was suggested. I can't take anything like that, but mostly because it wires me up. What I DO do when I have a nasty head cold is to put on those Breathe Right nose strips (marvelous), use some Afrin nose spray, and for coughs use only the Robitussin DM ( I checked with pharmacist.) Those are the things that help me most at night, as well as propping the head up on extra pillows.
