Guest guest
I'm new on this eGroups NCT-coffee list and I don't know who would be best to make this offer to, but I could take in someone for the conference weekend. We have a guest room with a double bed that was supposed to be the baby's room, but has not yet been transformed (and probably won't be before we move in a few months). If it gets desperate enough, more people could even bring sleeping bags and sleep on the living room floor. It's not gorgeous and not in the center of London (we're in the UNfashionable West End - Shepherd's Bush), but you can get to Waterloo with a Zone 1 & 2 Underground card. Has anyone ever tried to get the London-area NCT's to offer housing for out-of-towners coming for the Conference? It would be a bit of a logistical nightmare, I guess (No, I'm not volunteering for next year!). Guest guest
I'm a bit perturbed at Shirley's post, too, as they told me it was part of the NCT booking. And I've received no confirmation even though she said they would send me maps etc. Eeeek! Lesley ----------------- I don't understand this, Shirley. I told the Halls that I wanted to book accommodation for the NCT conference and the girl actually clarified that it was the National Childbirth Trust - so am I part of the block booking or not, and, if not, does it make any difference? I want to be where the action is and I'm not going to be happy if I'm in a different block. When I spoke to Profile, all they said was that the information would merely be numbers to call to book your own accommodation direct. Diane, HELP!! Alison p.s. Shirley, I haven't received any confirmation of my conference booking either, so don't panic tooooo much!
Guest guest
Alison Don't worry, all 3 of us from Basingstoke plus Lesley and probably (as I gave her the number too) are in Hampstead Halls. Angi - I'm going to sort you out tomorrow! (she knows what I mean) Cerys Re: Conference accommodation I don't understand this, Shirley. Guest guest
Thanks, Cerys - I'm only miffed now that those of us who have booked so far won't get brekkie thrown in, but presumably we can pay on the day for that. Guest guest
Cerys: All 3 of us from Basingstoke plus Lesley and probably are in Hampstead Halls...> Cerys Me too, I booked yesterday afternoon (Hampstead Halls) I asked if there was brekky, they said they didn`t know if the canteen would be open, depended on demand - but with the conf on, I expect it will. I`m planning to get the early Fri a.m. train (there is a connecting bus from 100 yards outside my house), arriving W`loo 8.47 - anyone know how far Kings College is from W`loo?
