Guest guest
Jess, This is ridiculous!! I can't believe that you wouldn't be excluded from this assignment considering the circumstances. What a total waste of your time! I would definitely see if you could possibly go over her (your teachers) head. good luck!! Dana -Mommy to Philip ph 9/17/97 << i got stuck in child developement this semester. i didn't bother getting out, because i thought it could be interesting. well, they want us to carry around these computerized baby dolls. when they cry, you have to stick a key in and leave it there until they stop crying. you also have to keep the head supported, etc. since they are computerized, the teacher can get print outs on how well they are doing, etc. i told my teacher i refuse to do the project. there is no way i am going to have time for a piece of technology with a real baby in my house. i told her that jennifer's well being is more important. she then came back with " well it should be easy for you " . TEACHERS!!!!!! oh well, i'll figure out something. jess >>
Guest guest
Hello ... They had those dolls on the Ricki Lake show today...they gave them to young girls that wanted to get pregnant....after having the crying dolls for a day or so...they all changed their minds. Thrush (Candidiasis) is yeast infection of the mouth that is not that uncommon in babies and children. White patches that look like cottage cheese curds show up on the membranes of the mouth or tongue, later turning to red or bleeding ulcers. Poor nutrition, tiredness, or treatment with antibiotics or cortisone may predispose a child to Thrush. Extra vitamins and minerals, and milk cultured with acidophilus (yogurt, kefir) should be given to help build up resistance to the yeast; or add powered acidophilus from capsules or tablets to water and, several times a day, have the child rinse his/her mouth and swallow it. /indigo all of my replies in one email, lol > > >hey everyone! i am being lazy tonight, so i am sticking all of my >comments and questions in one email. on the " returning cycles " >subject......jennifer will be 2 months old on 3/2 and i haven't gotten my >period yet. i'm not worried, it's actually easier for me this way! on the > " thrush " subject......what is thrush and what causes it/how do you get it? >well i think that is all i have to comment on. now for a " back to school " >update. >i got stuck in child developement this semester. i didn't bother getting >out, because i thought it could be interesting. well, they want us to >carry around these computerized baby dolls. when they cry, you have to >stick a key in and leave it there until they stop crying. you also have >to keep the head supported, etc. since they are computerized, the teacher >can get print outs on how well they are doing, etc. i told my teacher i >refuse to do the project. there is no way i am going to have time for a >piece of technology with a real baby in my house. i told her that >jennifer's well being is more important. she then came back with " well it >should be easy for you " . Guest guest
Jess, It sucks that you have to worry about a baby doll for a grade when you have to take care of a real baby. Have you tried talking to the guidance counseller or had you mom talk to the teacher?? I dropped out of HS after I got pregnant but I know when I was pregnant in school for the month or so I was there the teachers and everyone were great me!! Also, my school had a speical program that ran once a week for pregnant teens and new moms. You got to learn cool stuff, got out of class, and got a credit for it!!! What more could you ask for?? If this baby ever comes out I want to get my GED. I would go back to school but the system where I live is the worst in the state and I can't afford and I don't think I would be accpeted into a private school anyways. I am glad you were albe to return. I really regreat not being able to. I wouldn't give up my kids for the world but it is sad when I go back to games and stuff, I keep teasing my brother that I am gonna make one of his friends take me to prom next year!! LOL, he is a year younger then me but 2 years behind in school. Oh, and thrush, it is yeast in the baby's mouth and on your breasts. It is horrible!! When I first got it I tough that was teething on me and they were bite marks in my nipples. Then I realized that he had white cottage cheese lumps in his mouth as well and my nipples were all red, cracked and swollen. I would cry everytime I fed him. I had never heard of thrush before and I was in FL when I got it. I put him onto a cup for a week until we got back and we went right to the doc who put on us meds. It took about a month before it was totally gone, We tried several different meds. list owner and manager mom to 10/11/97 Breastfed til self weaned at 10 months and Angel OVERDUE Feb

Guest guest
AAAAAHHHHHH! That is why I homeschool. Sometimes teachers are so stupid. Like you have time or a need to carry around a compubaby. The point of the exercise is to help show teens how much work a baby can be. I think you probably have learned that lesson. Thrush is a yeast infection usually in the mouth. Wendi all of my replies in one email, lol hey everyone! i am being lazy tonight, so i am sticking all of my comments and questions in one email. on the " returning cycles " subject......jennifer will be 2 months old on 3/2 and i haven't gotten my period yet. i'm not worried, it's actually easier for me this way! on the " thrush " subject......what is thrush and what causes it/how do you get it? well i think that is all i have to comment on. now for a " back to school " update. i got stuck in child developement this semester. i didn't bother getting out, because i thought it could be interesting. well, they want us to carry around these computerized baby dolls. when they cry, you have to stick a key in and leave it there until they stop crying. you also have to keep the head supported, etc. since they are computerized, the teacher can get print outs on how well they are doing, etc. i told my teacher i refuse to do the project. there is no way i am going to have time for a piece of technology with a real baby in my house. i told her that jennifer's well being is more important. she then came back with " well it should be easy for you " . Guest guest
Hi Jess, Glad school is going well. Why don't you suggest to the teacher that you will take her computerised doll for 24 hours (so that she can assess your performance) and she can take your living doll for 24 hours and then you will assess her? LOL On a more serious note, sounds like you may need to talk to your co-ordinator or school counsellor on this one, sounds ridiculous to me. Hope it all works out all of my replies in one email, lol > > >hey everyone! i am being lazy tonight, so i am sticking all of my >comments and questions in one email. on the " returning cycles " >subject......jennifer will be 2 months old on 3/2 and i haven't gotten my >period yet. i'm not worried, it's actually easier for me this way! on the > " thrush " subject......what is thrush and what causes it/how do you get it? >well i think that is all i have to comment on. now for a " back to school " >update. >i got stuck in child developement this semester. i didn't bother getting >out, because i thought it could be interesting. well, they want us to >carry around these computerized baby dolls. when they cry, you have to >stick a key in and leave it there until they stop crying. you also have >to keep the head supported, etc. since they are computerized, the teacher >can get print outs on how well they are doing, etc. i told my teacher i >refuse to do the project. there is no way i am going to have time for a >piece of technology with a real baby in my house. i told her that >jennifer's well being is more important. she then came back with " well it >should be easy for you " . Guest guest
I don't see how they can say anything either. Besides that, It would be much easier then trying to find a refigerator and taking a cooler and then trying to warm up the milk. The milk won't stay good all day if you just leave it out. Guest guest
Jess, If they've given you permission to bring her they can not stop you from feeding her. Don't bring bottles. Make a statement to the girls in your school. Let them see you breastfeed. Good luck with it. Guest guest
I totally agree. maybe your mom can stop by and explain to the teache that snce you are getting up in the middle of the night to feed your own baby. You don't need theirs. My nephew had the baby last year. He was 12 or so. He had to bring it to my other neices christaning. Would you know the stupid thing started screaming in the middle of the service. he was so embarassed. we all thought it was funny. he flunked, partly because he is a heavy sleeper and slept through the baby crying more then once and because my DH ( not dear that day) saw it on the couch and tossed it to my nephew. It registers child abuse. My Dh offered to talk to the teacher, but the whole idea is he shouldn't have left it sitting on the couch by itself.
