Subject: Referral for Rehab in Southern NJ

Hi folks,

Looking for assistance for a therapist/group in the Southern NJ/Philly

area for a young man who sustained a pretty horrific injury several months ago

(think NASCAR type incident- fast with some safe guards that try and

mitigate the worst of things when they do happen). He lost part of a spleen

and a kidney, along surgery for some aorta repairs. I don’t have all the

details, but the lower spine/femur/ ankle suffered some trauma (hip/ankle

pinning and compression fx?) that had to be taken care of the next day due to

medical stability issues.

He has been frustrated waiting for things to heal/infections, etc.,

wanting to “get more aggressive†with therapy (he is now medically stable

with

some residual B/B problems, and should be able to start bearing weight on

his pinned LEs more than 50% sometime in the next 2 weeks or so). He has

pretty high expectations for care and is struggling with some of the expected

issues, but has lots of support and has already been in the community

(recently opting for home health PT/OT/nursing vs. readmission for rehab). He

may or may not return to some of the more spectacular aspects of his life,

but he has the drive to maximize his potential.

Anyone know of a rehab program or team/practice to recommend that can

help?

Thanks,

Dee

An excellent physical therapist in Southern NJ that I would highly recommend is

Ned Lenny,MSPT, PT. Ned is a triathlete and very knowledgeable of advanced

training methods that can take this individual where he wants to go.
