Guest guest
Hi ; been there done that! Try swinging your arm around for some pressure to be built up in the hand, swing your arm around and around ok...that should work. Cheers; Ken B I refuse to bleed Hey all, the resident newby with more questions. I can not get enough to check my sugar. This is not because I'm having trouble with the strip, but because I can't get enough blood from my fingers. When I try to squeeze my finger to get a bit. It smears and is unusable. I tryed 4 times this morning before I gave up. I'm not a pin cushion!! Any advice? I have 2 meters one that you can change the depth of the prick, but even that on its highist level isn't working.! And I am so sick of being nausiated from this metformin. That I would just like to go eat a huge bowl of icecream!

Guest guest
Hi , Try putting your fingers under warm water first. Then try milking the fingers with the tips of your fingers facing downwards to make the blood run into the fingertips and then poke the finger. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Hi , Another thought, if I recall correctly, you said something about horses? If so, your fingers are probably a little more callosed as were mine when I used to ride and work with horses. Also try setting, the depth on your poker a little deeper. Guest guest
Oh, I beg to differ. You are indeed a pin cushion!! We are all pin cushions at times. Just keep with it, you'll have good times, and times you really do wonder if there's any blood inside your body. There are some tips, like running your finger under warm water, pumping it a certain way, letting your hand hang low for a few minutes, but you'll just have to experiment. And, sometimes you're getting plenty of blood, but it's just smearing and running all over your finger (and anything else in the vicinity). If you suspect it's smearing, wipe the spot, and try to squeeze again, a little more slowly, but evenly. Dave Writing and speaking for a Higher purpose. Guest guest
Hi , I too don't bleed very easily, What I do is: 1. vigourisly shake my hand while it is down by my side, like I am waiving at someone. (thanks eric) 2. I then squeeze my finger for couple of seconds at the first joint. 3. I then need to prick the finger tip near the centre of the finger to get enough blood. I can only use the side of my fingers on very warm days, or else I don't get enough blood. Hope this helps, Brett. .. I refuse to bleed Hey all, the resident newby with more questions. Guest guest
, We are all pincushions! The hints others have given are good, but after all the many years I have done this, I often have to stick myself several times in order to get enough blood! Guest guest
You know i have a hard time bleeding, and while i do shake my hands the next thing i do is slap my hand against my thigh. The reason for this is because whenever you slap skin together blood rusehs to that area. Then I milk my finger form the second join down and i've had much better results. _____ From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of Brett Sent: Friday, September 05, 2008 5:21 PM To: blind-diabetics Subject: Re: I refuse to bleed Hi , I too don't bleed very easily, What I do is: 1. vigourisly shake my hand while it is down by my side, like I am waiving at someone.
