Guest guest
Hi all, I wonder if those of you who serve in Inpatient Rehab Facilities: Acute Inpt Rehab would be willing to share some information on your work flows/therapy scheduling and patient meals. If you would be willing to provide information on the following, I would greatly appreciate it! If you prefer, feel free to email me directly at Kerry.wood@... or call me at 802/847-3942. 1) What is the process your facility uses to complete the therapy appointment schedules for IRF patients? 2) Do you ensure patients receive a Morning OT ADL evaluation on the first full day of their stay (Day 2)? 3) WHO completes the therapy schedules 4) What is the process for meals at your facility? What is the meal schedule? If you have separate floors, are the meals provided at separate times? Does this impact therapy schedules? 5) Do you schedule patients for >3 hours (3.25 or 3.5) to ensure they actually receive 3 hours or do you have therapists stay late to make up lost time when required? 6) what is the staffing schedule/work schedules for the OT/PT/SLP at your site Monday through Friday? We have a 35 bed IRF with 15 beds on one floor and 20 beds on a second floor. Meals are cooked/provided to the patients on the floor they reside; with one floor having breakfast from 6:30-7:30, lunch 11:30-12:30 and dinner 4:30-5:30. The other floor has breakfast 7:45-8:45, Lunch 12:45-1:45 and dinner 5:45-6:45. OT staffing is staggered with one starting at 6:30-3:00, most 7-3:30, a couple 8-4:30 and one team who work ten hour days 7-5:30. The PTs work 8:30-5. We are struggling with the amount of time it takes to create patient schedules day to day to accommodate the meal times and need for 3 hours of therapy and are hoping to discover more creative, efficient and effective ways to ensure patients both receive required therapy and have a positive meal experience! thanks for your time!
