**Legislative Update* AB 783

**An electronic memo produced by the **California Physical Therapy

Association* <http://www.ccapta.org/>

*AB 783 (Hayashi) Professional Corporations: Physical Therapists Set for

Hearing Monday, June 27th

*Upon the request of the Chair and Vice Chair of the Senate Business and

Professions Committee CPTA leadership attended meetings with Assembly Member

Hayashi and the sponsors of AB 783 to discuss the bill. In that

discussion, the proponents of AB 783 expressed their unwillingness to work

with CPTA in a manner that would address our concerns. CPTA

remains STRONGLY opposed to AB 783 and urges CPTA members to join the fight

against the bill when it is brought to the Senate Business and Professions

Committee for a third time on Monday, June 27th.

*AB 783* is scheduled to be heard in the Senate Business, Professions and

Economic Development Committee on *Monday, June 27th at 1:00 p.m. in Room

3191.* Testimony will not be provided. The bill will be heard for a vote

only.

*Calling all local physical therapists, patients and friends!* We need YOU

to join us at the California State Legislature on Monday, June 27th at 1:00

p.m. to show your opposition to this bill. We will only win this fight with

your help!

Thank you for your efforts and dedication to the physical therapy

profession! For more information on AB 783 please visit our website at

www.ccapta.org or contact Alyse Migliaro at amigliaro@....*

*Did you know that California is one of only eight states with a year round

legislature? CPTA is on guard all year to protect our profession.
