Guest guest
- Our caseloads vary depending on the needs of the patient. We treat 6.5- 7 hours of the 8 hours worked. If all patients are tri-service and receiving both OT and Speech in addition to PT, then a caseload might be 7 patients. If the patients need 90-120 minutes of PT (of the 180/day) then the caseload per therapist drops to 4-5. Most staff carry a " mixed caseload " and have 5-7 patients on their caseloads. PS- We typically exceed our productivity expectation of 75%. Hope that helps. CMS has not established standards on the provision of concurrent therapies in IRFs. My question for other IRFs is what is the typical caseload for a full time therapist? 4 patients, 5 patients...? Guest guest
Marcia, I am curious as to what work flow systems you have in place related to documentation, discharge planning and team communication at your IRF for the therapists to consistently treat directly 7 hours out of an 8 hour day. We seldom can treat beyond 6-6.5 hours of direct care daily and successfully complete the work day in 8 hours. I know there " must be a better way! " Thanks Kerry Kerry R. Guest guest
I am also interested in hearing your workflow to make that possible. What documentation requirements do you have in your facility? Daily, weekly and combination?
