Guest guest
I called my insurance which is Kaiser and the do not cover any type of voice meters for the blind. I will make this known to the blind community here in So. California. I think that we have a fight on our hand. Everyone please have a blessed Tuesday. Guest guest
Do you ever deal with an agent or rep? You might want them to make some inquiries. The fact that the meter is used by the blind, i.e. it has voice output, should have no bearing on whether or not it's covered. Do you have a prescription from your doct? Guest guest
No Dave, That's the 1st thing I did and my doctor told me that they do not carry any kind of voice meters and I told them that they may be facing a discrimination law suit for as large as Kaiser is, They have to take care of the blind diabetics. I will be checking with the California Council of the Blind and who ever else I need to go to. I'm not the only person that is facing this issue. The Prodigy sales rep did tell us that Kaiser will not cover the meter. I'm glad for the members in this group that have one is liking it. I will keep pushing on until this is solved. Guest guest
Bernie, What part of CA are you in? I know a number of blind people who have received the Prodigy Audocode from them-at least in Southern CA. I don't know if you know Ken Metz from CCB, but was instrumental iin getting the first Audocode from Kaiser Sunset. Call me for further info (626)279-2954 Re: Kasier Insurance does not cover the prodigy meter No Dave, That's the 1st thing I did and my doctor told me that they do not carry any kind of voice meters and I told them that they may be facing a discrimination law suit for as large as Kaiser is, They have to take care of the blind diabetics.
